The Dolphins Punish the Jets on Their Home Turf to Continue Tua's Undefeated Streak Against Gang Green

The Dolphins played a dominant game all-around today, crushing the Jets 34-10. They started off red-hot, leading 21-0 before the end of the first quarter, and never looked back. Though the offense slowed significantly after that, the defense played a fantastic game, which was made easier when Tyrod Taylor left with a groin injury and never returned. Backup QB Brady Cook fully looked the part of an undrafted QB, and the Dolphins picked him off twice (after picking off Taylor early in the game).

After the first quarter, all the Dolphins really had to do was “not lose the game” and leave it to the Jets offense to try and come back with one of the worst offenses in the league. That’s precisely what they did, running the ball and sprinkling in some safe passes when needed, burning time and letting the Jets play Jets offense.

The big news other than the result was De’Von Achane going down with a rib injury and not returning, though Jaylen Wright did a fantastic job filling in for him. I’m hoping they didn’t bring Achane in because they didn’t have to and not because he couldn’t come back in. If he’s out, I don’t see any chance for the Dolphins to continue this great run they’ve put together.

The Dolphins find themselves at 6-7, just 1 game under .500 with the wild card still far away but in their sights. With the Bengals loss earlier today, that’s one less team to worry about, but they still have a long ways to go if they want to finish this turnaround and make the playoffs. The only thing they can take care of is what’s in their control, and that’s continuing to play hard and win. These last 4 games are going to be the hardest part of their schedule, so we’ll see what they can make of it. The Steelers are up next, followed by the Bengals, Bucs and Patriots to close out the season. Not an easy final stretch, but that’s how it plays out.

The dream continues yet another week, as the Dolphins continue to stay in the race and give their fans something to be excited for…
